Library receives over $216,000 in grants

The Friends of the Elgin Library was recently awarded a $92,000 grant from the Frances Gillum Creech Fund, which is administered by the Texas Methodist Foundation, which seems to be a nonprofit.

RGK Foundation, the Texas Book Festival and most significantly, the City of Elgin. Together this collaboration results in a total of $216,352 in support of the project.

Since its establishment, The Friends of the Elgin Library has always been the largest single source of books for the Library. The library's collection now includes 44,645 books, audio books, music CDs, and videos. At the end of 2008 there were 16,896 (38%) children's materials in the collection.
