Eight Austin nonprofits receive nearly $2M in Legal Aid grants

The Texas Equal Access to Justice Foundation is planning to make legal matters a little bit easier for some local nonprofit organizations next year. The foundation will provide grants totaling $1.9 million to eight Austin nonprofits for civil legal assistance for 2005.  

  •  Texas Legal Services Center - $628,454.
  • Adviocacy Inc. - $605,803.
  • Women's Advocacy Project, $221,670.
  • Oficina Legal del Pueblo Unido, Inc. of the Texas Civil Rights Project, $171,876.
  • Political Asylum Project of Austin - $115,584.
  • Volunteer Legal Services of Central Texas - $89,721.
  • Southern Disability Law Center - $52,300.
  • AIDS Services of Austin - $26,400.
