GenCure launches scholarship video competition for high school seniors
BioBridge Global and GenCure

April, 2016

GenCure is looking for young videographers and directors across South Texas for its annual scholarship video contest.

The requirements are simple: Create a 2-3 minute video that displays the importance of joining the Donate Life Texas registry and explains the role that tissue donation has in people’s lives. The goal of the video is to encourage viewers to sign up for the registry.

The competition is open April 1-May 31, and it is for high school seniors. First prize is a $1,000 scholarship, and the winning video will be posted on the GenCure website, as well as on social media channels of BioBridge Global, GenCure’s parent organization.

Information, including a list of counties where students are eligible to enter, is at

The winner of the scholarship will be notified by June 10.

Donate Life Texas is an organization that allows people to register as organ, eye and tissue donors. A single donation can save as many as eight lives through organ donation and improve the lives of up to 50 people through tissue donation. Donors also can help save a recipient’s sight through a cornea donation.

GenCure provides tissue transplants to doctors throughout South Texas and beyond to help improve patients’ lives.
