Opportunity for organizations that serve the military community!
San Antonio Area Foundation

August, 2014

Grants, Programs and Services Weekly E-News

If you know of an organization that serves the military community and could benefit from top-notch nonprofit management training from national and local experts, please share this email and encourage them to apply.  We received grant funding to substantially reduce the tuition for accepted applicants – and we want to be sure that organizations that are doing good work serving the military community have the opportunity to benefit from this support.  The deadline to register is August 22nd.

The Nonprofit Management Certificate for Veterans’ Service Organizations is a 10-month series of educational and convening sessions with goals to:

  • Create effective and sustainable nonprofit Veterans’ service organizations;
  • Assist in bridging partnerships and collaborations among Veterans’ service organizations;
  • Ensure that participating organizations are better equipped to maximize their impact on the Veterans’ community.

Each session covers an educational topic pertinent to empowering a nonprofit, as well as discussion about specific issues and challenges facing nonprofits that support the military community.

Thanks to generous grant funding from the Kresge Foundation and underwriting from the San Antonio Area Foundation, we are able to offer partial scholarships valued over $2,000 for this 10-month program – leaving a remaining tuition balance of $545.00.   Tuition includes entry to two conferences, breakfast and lunch for all sessions, plus receptions during the November conference and June 2015 graduation.

To register, click here: ).  This opens our online application.  Applicants must create an account (if they have not already) to apply, and then choose "Nonprofit Management Certification Program-Veteran Serving Organizations (2014-2015).”
