San Antonio Sports joins the Big Give SA
San Antonio Sports

April, 2014

San Antonio Sports, a nonprofit organization, is excited to join Big Give S.A., San Antonio’s first ever day of giving. On May 6, the San Antonio community will join together through Big Give SA to raise money for local nonprofits. San Antonio Sports’ participation will focus on helping children in the San Antonio community through its i play! afterschool program. i play! afterschool program reaches more than 750 children in San Antonio and Harlandale Independent School Districts through the course of the school year. The program allows third through fifth graders to learn and play five different sports, with each sport receiving its own five-week program that culminates in a day-long tournament. The sports include: track, soccer, volleyball, tennis, and golf.

San Antonio Sports values Big Give S.A donations of any amount, and every donation will make a difference to a child in i play! afterschool. Just $12 can buy one dozen tennis balls, $40 will buy a dozen golf balls and a golf club, $50 can provide four tennis racquets, and $100 means 10 new soccer balls. A donation of $200 is enough to add another child to the program, $1,000 covers the annual training of coaches for one i play! afterschool sport and $5,000 can fund the addition of another school to serve 25 children for a year. All donations will help San Antonio Sports give children an active afterschool option that will keep them healthy and open a world of possibilities to them.
