SA Fund

April, 2013

A San Antonio-based group of clean stand-up comedians are using laughs to bring funds to San Antonio community partners. Local organizations benefiting from Comedy For The FUN-d Of It include education, health, family and faith-based organizations. The event takes place 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Sat., Aug. 31 at TriPoint Grantham Center, 3233 N. St. Mary’s St.

“Comedy for the FUN-d Of it was such a success that we decided to replicate it again during the second half of the year, “ said Bob Moher, comedian, founder of Door to Door Comedy and creator of Comedy For The FUN-d Of It. “In February, we were able to help over 30 organizations. Having several community groups participate help small to large groups raise funds without expense. There is no cost for nonprofits to partner.”

Participating returning partners include: Alamo Area Partners for Animal Welfare, Dr. Bowie Scholarship Foundation, D.R. Semmes Family YMCA, Heidi Search Center, Katie’s Roadside Rescue, Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD), SA Junior Forum, Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, SpaySA. A full list is available at

There is still time for other community organizations to join. Groups that may benefit include benevolent funds, educational causes, mission trips, scholarships, sports teams, social causes and more. Please call Nora Frost, (210) 722-2236, or Moher at (210) 452-1296, for further detail.
