STEM Outside of the Box: New Methods of Practice

Join us on February 11th from 11:30am-1:00pm at the Children’s Museum of Houston for our annual STEM Luncheon! This year’s theme is “STEM Outside of the Box: New Methods of Practice” and will feature innovative instructors, curriculum experts, and administrators sharing their ideas and best practices. The event will be jam-packed with engaging content strategies and practical application methods!

Our keynote speakers will be Dr. Christina White and Joules Webb. Dr. White is a founding director of the National Academy of Engineering Longhorn Grand Challenges Scholars & K12 Partners Program at The University of Texas at Austin. She is also the director of an outreach program called Design, Technology, & Engineering for All Children (DTEACh) which has reached more than 1000 teachers and 85,000 students. Joules is a STEM education and industry expert currently with the University of Texas Cockrell School of Engineering, and has served on the T-STEM Academy Blueprint design committee and as a T-STEM coalition board member for two years. Their experience and passion for STEM practice will provide an engaging presentation for all attendees!

Dr. White and Webb will be joined on a practitioner panel by Carol Mosteit (Principal, High School for Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice) and Kimberlin Sturgis (Principal, Betsy Ross Elementary). The luncheon will also feature a  presentation from Reasoning Mind exploring the new frontiers of math instruction. All interested in STEM resources and ideas are welcome to attend!
