Bruce D. Perry, MD, PhD
Dr. Perry is the Senior Fellow of the Child Trauma Academy, a not-for-profit organization which promotes innovations in service, research and education in child maltreatment and childhood trauma.  Dr. Perry has been an active teacher, clinician and researcher in children’s mental health and the neurosciences holding a variety of academic positions.  A focus of his work has been the development of innovative clinical and systemic programs and practices based upon emerging concepts regarding child development and neurodevelopment. These programs are in partnership with multiple sectors of the community and in context of public-private partnerships which help catalyze systemic change within the primary institutions that work with high-risk children such as child protective services, mental health, public education and juvenile justice.
Ira Chasnoff, MD
Dr. Chasnoff serves as the president of the Children's Research Triangle and a Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago. He is one of the nation's leading researchers in the field of maternal drug use during pregnancy and the effects on the newborn infant and child. His research projects include a study of the long-term cognitive, behavioral and educational developmental effects of prenatal exposure to alcohol, cocaine, and other drugs; the effects on birth outcome of prenatal treatment and counseling for pregnant drug abusers; and the effectiveness of both outpatient and residential treatment programs for pregnant drug abusers. He is the author of four books and numerous articles on the effects of drug use on pregnancy and on the long-term cognitive, behavioral, and learning outcomes of prenatally exposed children.

F. Scott McCown
Scott McCown retired as a state district judge in September 2002 to become the executive director of the Center for Public Policy Priorities. In 2007, the School of Social Work at The University of Texas at Austin presented Scott with the Vision and Valor Award of Distinction for exemplary accomplishments in the promotion of social justice. In 2005 and again in 2011, Texas Monthly named Scott one of “The 25 Most Powerful People in Texas Politics” and a “voice for the voiceless.” He is widely recognized for his expertise in child protection and remains an active member of the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges. 
Judge Peter Sakai
After serving eleven years as Associate Judge of the Children’s Court he resigned in order to run for the bench in the 225th District Court. Judge Peter Sakai serves as Judge of the 225th District Court, Committee Chair Judge of the Children’s Court, and Presiding Judge of the Family Drug Treatment Court in Bexar County, Texas. He was recently reelected to a second term. Judge Peter Sakai’s career commitment to improving the system for families and children has been recognized with honors.   Widely recognized community leader who works hard to bring new ideas and solutions to help resolve issues of child abuse and neglect and family violence and to constantly challenge all involved in the child welfare system to more effectively serve the families that come into the courtroom and prevent child abuse and neglect.
