Seven Southeast Texas nonprofits will have a little more money to spend after getting recent grants from the Entergy Charitable Foundation.

The following nonprofits will receive a total of $20,500:

Art Museum of Southeast Texas, Beaumont, $2,500 to present exhibitions by three Texas artists.

Beaumont Community Housing Development, $1,000 for  financial literacy/credit restoration training program for first-time homebuyers and other low- to moderate-income families in need of affordable housing.

Inspire, Encourage, Achieve, Beaumont, $5,000 for Camp Bright Start for youth involved with local law enforcement and the Jefferson County Juvenile Probation Department.

Julie Rogers Gift of Life Program, Beaumont, $5,000 for free cancer screening services.

Pioneering Women, Beaumont, $1,000 for college assistance program for help in purchasing textbooks and materials.

ProLiteracy Worldwide, Conroe, $1,000 for children's literacy for children of parents enrolled in English as a Second Language classes.

UM Army, Huntsville, $5,000 for Summer 2009 Home Repair Work Camps, a program in which high school youth repair homes for low-income elderly and disabled residents.
