Rick, a graduate of Texas A & M, started his financial career with Merrill Lynch in the early 1980’S. His career then took him to Austin, where he was involved in the start up of the first bank originated brokerage firm in the country, MPACT Brokers. Later he managed a brokerage office for Lomas Financial Corp. in Dallas, then a Capital Markets Department for Banc One Austin. Rick was also involved in the creation of the Private Banking Division for Frost Bank as a SVP where he served almost 10 years. He is now SVP of Business Development for PlainsCapital Bank San Antonio. He is a licensed Certified Financial Planner® and Accredited Wealth Management Advisor®. He holds numerous security and insurance licenses. Rick enjoys the challenges of building a successful business in a competitive environment.
He is actively involved in the San Antonio community, some examples are: the San Antonio Economic Development Foundation, the Advisory Board for the School of Business and Leadership of Our Lady of the Lake University (where he was instrumental in the development of the first Hispanic Marketing Degree Program in the United States), the China Committee of the Free Trade Alliance, Co-chair of the Mexico Group of the Free Trade Alliance for 2009 and newly elected to the Board of the Alamo Asian Chamber of Commerce for 2009.
On a personal note he is a recognized wildlife photographer and has a ranch
in Southerland Springs, Texas where he spends most weekends with his small
herd of cows.
